Append an element to a list

Write a function that adds an element to the end of a list and returns the list. The element can be of any type.

def append_to_list(values: list, element: object) -> list:
    # Add code here!
    pass

# A list of numbers gains one more number at the end
got = append_to_list([1, 2, 3], 4)
assert got == [1, 2, 3, 4], f"[1, 2, 3] and 4: expected [1, 2, 3, 4], got {got!r}"

# An empty list gains its first element
got = append_to_list([], "a")
assert got == ["a"], f"[] and 'a': expected ['a'], got {got!r}"

# A list can hold values of different types
got = append_to_list([1], "b")
assert got == [1, "b"], f"[1] and 'b': expected [1, 'b'], got {got!r}"

# Your case: which element would you add, and to which list?
# got = append_to_list(___, ___)
# assert got == ___, f"expected ___, got {got!r}"
