Course content
The course covers logistics-system management, mathematical modeling, vehicle routing, supplier selection, multi-objective optimization, heuristics, uncertainty and disturbances, transportation-network design, multimodal transportation, and collaborative logistics.
Students learn to analyze logistics systems, formulate operational problems, develop exact and heuristic solution methods, implement methods in Python, and evaluate their results.
Teaching format
The course combines lectures, guest lectures, Python tutorials, practical sessions, two assignments, and an examination. Recent assignments use a Rotterdam water-taxi setting to connect mathematical modeling, routing, and multimodal transportation.
