Project Milestones

This is the timeline guide I wish every student read early. It explains what to do, when to do it, and what a “strong enough” deliverable looks like at each milestone—so you don’t discover constraints in week 18.

Recommended Starting Point

Begin with Timeframes and Page Limits. It sets expectations and prevents common planning mistakes (like trying to do too much too late).

Choose Your Track

BSc Projects

If you are doing a BSc project, follow Project Plan (M11) and BSc Thesis (M12) and translate the timeframes into a concrete weekly plan.

MSc Theses

If you are doing an MSc thesis, use these pages as an end-to-end path:

1. Project Plan and Kickoff Meeting (MSc) to align on topic, responsibilities, and the way we work.
2. Thesis Preparation (MSc) for the formal tasks you must complete before the thesis period starts.
3. Greenlight Meeting Preparation Checklist (MSc) when you are close to finishing the thesis period (and see Green Light Philosophy for what “green light” means).

Shared End-of-Project Logistics (BSc + MSc)

Regardless of track, use Colloquium Logistics when you approach the end (including what to do if a supervisor needs to attend online).
